On immunohistochemical examination, it usually shows intense immunostaining for vimentin, P53, bcl-2 and smooth muscle actin (SMA) and negative for cytokeratin (CK)-19, galectin-3, and calcitonin; this finding may help distinguish low grade fibromyxoid sarcoma from other sarcomas [7, 8]. The gene discussed is VIM; the disease is sarcoma.
