In this cluster, except for genes that have established roles in the DNA damage response, such as Fanconi anemia, complementation group D2 (FANCD2)99, our study also suggests genes, e.g., downstream neighbor of SON (DONSON) and proline/serine-rich coiled-coil 1 (PSRC1), that may have new unrevealed functions in DNA repair since the expression levels of theses genes were up-regulated in accordance with FA proteins and BRIP1 in cancer samples. The gene discussed is SON; the disease is Fanconi anemia.
