TYK2 and diabetes mellitus: In the age-specific analysis on subjects with T1D, we found that the TYK2 promoter variant haplotype was associated with a higher risk for diabetes in younger people aged 0 to 19 years (OR, 2.4; 95% CI, 1.1 to 5.4; P = 0.04) and 20 to 39 years (OR, 3.1; 95% CI, 1.4 to 6.9; P = 0.006), but not in older patients aged 40–59 years (OR, 1.6; 95% CI, 0.5 to 5.1; P = 0.62) or 60–79 years (OR, 1.2; 95% CI, 0.1 to 9.5; P = 0.68) (Table 4).
