Sarcoma patients in profile 1 had CD14+HLA-DRlo/neg monocytes similar to the levels in healthy volunteers in terms of cell counts and percentages (mean: 39.9 cells/μl and 9.2 ± 9.6 % of CD14+ monocytes) whereas sarcoma patients in group 2 had significantly elevated CD14+HLA-DRlo/neg monocytes (307.7 cells/μl (p = 0.0087 vs. profile 1 and 30.2 ± 15.9 % (p = 0.011)). This evidence concerns the gene CD14 and sarcoma.
