CHRNA7 and central nervous system disorder: Taken together, the major finding of the present report is that both chemical and genetic blockages of α7 nAChR are protective against C. neoformans- and HIV-1 associated comorbidity factors-induced BBB injury and CNS disorders by down-regulation of cBMEC shedding, monocyte recuitment, NF-κB signaling, senescence and neuronal inflammation.
