EGFR and colorectal carcinoma: Recently, the use of biologicals targeting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR; i.e., Bevacizumab, Cetuximab and Panitumumab) were shown to increase survival in patients with advanced CRC, but only by a few months with limited impact on five-year survival—which remains on the order of 5–10% [14,15,16].
