INS and type 2 diabetes mellitus: Specifically, circulating endotoxin levels were significantly raised during a high-fat meal in overweight+ and T2DM metabolic states, with the impact of cardiometabolic changes imposing a more detrimental risk profile in T2DM subjects than either the overweight+ or the non-diabetic lean control subjects as assessed by glucose, triglycerides, insulin and HOMA-IR and lower HDL postprandially.
