We have demonstrated that the presence of chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 18 (CCL18), a hallmark of M2 macrophages, promotes breast cancer metastasis through binding to its receptor PITPNM3 on breast cancer cells; this chemokine is also associated with a poor prognosis of patients with breast cancer [3]. This evidence concerns the gene PITPNM3 and breast carcinoma.
