CD44 and breast cancer: Levano et al. [7] explored the cytokine receptor profile of different breast cancer cell types and found that basal-like cells (e.g., MDA-MB231) express preferentially granulocyte monocyte colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF), hepatocyte growth factor receptor (HGFR, also known as c-MET), CD44, epithelial growth factor receptor (EGFR), transforming growth factor receptor 2 (TGFR2) and oncostatin M receptor (OSMR).
