In a Polish study evaluating the importance of a family history of stomach cancer in predicting the presence of a BRCA2 mutation in patients with ovarian cancer, findings showed that 8 of 34 women with ovarian cancer and a family history of stomach cancer were found to carry a BRCA2 mutation versus 3 of 75 women with ovarian cancer and a family history of ovarian cancer but not stomach cancer [39]. This evidence concerns the gene BRCA2 and gastric neoplasm.
