PTEN and neoplasm: Studies have suggested that the monoallelic loss of PTEN may be more detrimental than biallelic loss, leading to tumor progression rather than Pten-loss-induced cellular senescence.37 However, when our patients were stratified according to the level of mutant or deletion, although PTENMONO patients were associated with unfavorable levels of MRD and a worse OS, the difference was not significant and, in view of the small number of patients in the subgroups, this would require validation in a larger cohort.
