The authors examined the expression patterns of LGALS3BP, CD9, CD82, β-catenin and galectins in serial colon tissue sections in patients with stage I and IV CRC and also in metastatic liver tissues, and found that LGALS3BP, CD9 and CD82 were higher in the cancer tissues from stage I than in the stage IV and in the adjacent normal hepatic tissues than in the invading colon cancer cells. This evidence concerns the gene CD82 and colorectal carcinoma.
