Blockade of IL-33/ST2 has been shown to inhibit both airway hyperresponsiveness and Th2 cytokines in BALF in an OVA-induced allergic asthma model[39]; however, our data showed that IL-33 vaccine inhibited the HDM-induced airway hyperresponsiveness and eosinophilia, but not the increased lung Th2 cytokines. This evidence concerns the gene IL1RL1 and allergic asthma.
