This observation is consistent with previous studies that showed that LAMC2 overexpression and CDH1 loss were also observed in infiltrative strands or small nests of tumor cells and tumor buds in oral and pancreatic cancers [7, 16, 18, 23, 59] suggesting that LAMC2 and CDH1 proteins could participate in a phenomenon known as tumor budding which is important for the ability of tumor cells to migrate and invade [16, 48].
