EGFR and adenocarcinoma: The presence of EGFR mutations correlated with adenocarcinoma histology (p<0.001), with gender (p<0.001) as it was encountered at higher rates in females (21.3%) than in males (7%), and were also associated with smoking status (p<0.001), in particular EGFR mutations were present in 8 of 105 (7.6%) smokers and 12 of 27 (44%) non-smokers.
