Subgroup analyses stratified by ethnicity (Asian and Caucasian) demonstrated no significant association between the HLA-DQB1*020x polymorphism and the risk for GBS in Asians (OR: 0.99, 95% CI: 0.68–1.61; P = 0.97) or Caucasians (OR: 0.85, 95% CI: 0.61–1.61; P = 0.36) (Fig 2B). This evidence concerns the gene HLA-DQB1 and Guillain-Barre syndrome.
