CDKN2A/p16 methylation has been the subject of several studies, and two recent meta-analyses including over 3000 patients with colorectal cancer have revealed a strong association of CDKN2A/p16 methylation with adverse survival, lymph node metastasis and lymphovascular invasion [52, 53]. Here, CDKN2A is linked to metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes.
