Donepezil is another cholinesterase inhibitor used in AD patients that, when given in doses as low as 3 mg/kg [259], 5 mg/kg [238, 249], or even 0.01 mg/kg [241] in a mouse AD model, both increased antioxidant power (CAT, SOD, GSH, or GPx, depending on the dose; see Table 12) and diminished lipid peroxidation [238, 241, 249]. This evidence concerns the gene SOD1 and Alzheimer disease.
