Cancer transcriptome analysis revealed that G9a is overexpressed in many different types of tumors including hepatocellular, colon, prostate, lung and invasive transitional cell carcinomas and in B cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia, and responsible for various aspects of tumorigenesis, including cellular differentiation, proliferation and epithelial to mesenchymal transition [34].
