Moriguchi et al. documented a high preavlence of seropositivity to glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD) in Japanese patients with AITD when compared to HCs and patients with thyroiditis of non-autoimmune origin, however the major contribution was attributed to Grave’s disease (GD), whereas HT patients presented only slight but not significant GADA prevalence [26]. The gene discussed is GAD1; the disease is thyroiditis.
