Conversely, the results of the study in a Chinese population [21] showed that G allele was associated with a decreased risk of gastric cancer, which may be explained by differences in the role of host polymorphisms and risk of gastric cancer between Western and Eastern populations including polymorphism in genes coding IL1B-511 and IL1RN*2 [1–6, 44]. This evidence concerns the gene IL1RN and gastric cancer.
