CD4 and AIDS: Similar to the primary analyses, AIDS at ART initiation (adjusted HR=1.49; 95% CI 1.24–1.78), lower CD4 count (adjusted HR=1.86 for 50 vs. 350 cells/μL; 95% CI 1.45–2.38) and older age (adjusted HR=1.44 for 50 vs. 30 years; 95% CI 1.19–1.74) were strongly associated with an increased hazard of death.
