qRT-PCR and Western blotting assays showed that restoration of miR-451 in HCC cells induced the expression of epithelial markers (E-cadherin and β-catenin) that was accompanied by a concomitant decrease of mesenchymal markers (N-cadherin and Vimentin) (Figure 2d-2e). The gene discussed is VIM; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
