In the mouse model of myocardial infarction (MI) caused by coronary artery ligation (CLI), a single application of miR-27b mimic had strong protective effect on the microvasculature as was determined by IHC for CD31, with 1.6-fold higher MVD in the infarcted area compared to control group (Fig. 3a, b). Here, PECAM1 is linked to myocardial infarction.
