Overall, the AXIN2 rs2240308 polymorphism was associated with a significant increase in the risk of cancer (G allele vs. A allele: OR = 1.21, 95 % CI = 1.05–1.40, I2 = 39.5 % and PQ = 0.094 for heterogeneity; GG vs. AA: OR = 1.30, 95 % CI = 1.04–1.63, I2 = 35.9 % and PQ = 0.121 for heterogeneity; GG vs. GA + AA: OR = 1.36, 95 % CI = 1.17–1.58, I2 = 19.5 % and PQ = 0.263 for heterogeneity). Here, AXIN2 is linked to cancer.
