The German Glioma Network performed genome and transcriptome-wide molecular profiling of glioblastoma samples from 28 long-term survivors with >3 years overall survival and finally concluded their work finding that IDH1/2 mutation was associated with distinct genomic and transcriptomic changes that together define a molecular subtype of glioblastoma with better prognosis and increased likelihood for long-term survival [10,40]. This evidence concerns the gene IDH1 and central nervous system cancer.
