To prove if Akt/mTOR/HIF-1α axis is involved in elevated aerobic glycolysis in tamoxifen-resistant breast cancer cells, their phosphorylation status or expression levels were investigated by western blot analysis after knockdown of HK-2 or 3-BrPA treatment followed by 4-OHT treatment in three cell lines. This evidence concerns the gene HIF1A and breast carcinoma.
