EGFR and non-small cell lung carcinoma: In a phase 1 study, tivantinib, a MET inhibitor and microtubule polymerization inhibitor [25], combined with erlotinib, an EGFR inhibitor, showed promising clinical activity with PR or stable disease observed in 15 of 32 patients [26]; in this same combination study, 6 of 8 patients with NSCLC achieved stable disease [26].
