APP and Alzheimer disease: Consistent with evidence showing that nutritional factors alter AD risk (Morris, 2009; Hennebelle et al., 2014; Morris and Tangney, 2014), high-fat-diets (HFD) have been consistently shown to further increase Aβ concentrations in the brain of APP models (Ho et al., 2004; Maesako et al., 2013; Ramos-Rodriguez et al., 2014), as well as in the 3×Tg-AD model (Julien et al., 2010; Barron et al., 2013; Vandal et al., 2014b).
