NFKB1 and viral infectious disease: In summary, our study provides evidence to elucidate the mechanism of liver damage, probably as a part of multi-organ failure in severe cases of SFTS, which may result from a combination of virus infection-induced immunopathogenicity, with a hallmark of NFκB-dependent proinflammatory cytokine and chemokine production, and apoptosis triggered by both extrinsic and intrinsic pathways.
