The BMI-increasing allele at FTO was associated with higher risk of endometrial cancer (OR = 1.16, 95% CI = 1.07 to 1.27, P = 5.6×10–4), which may reflect the larger effect size of FTO variants on BMI than other variants (Supplementary Figure 1C, available online). The gene discussed is FTO; the disease is endometrial cancer.
