Similar abnormalities were described by Subbaramaiah et al. [14] in female mice fed the same HF diet, together with higher levels of TNF-α and IL-1β compared with LF-fed controls in the macrophage-rich stromal-vascular cellular fraction isolated from mammary glands, changes that were particularly prominent in mice with greater body weight gains due to a combination of a HF diet and ovariectomy. This evidence concerns the gene IL1B and hydrops fetalis.
