During follow-up, a 54-year-old patient died due to a myocardial infarction; this patient had a history of intense tobacco and alcohol consumption, tophaceous gout for 30 years with an inadequate control, MetS (obesity, hypertension, and dyslipidemia), his baseline Lep and AdipoQ serum levels were similar to the values from other patients. This evidence concerns the gene LEP and hypertensive disorder.
