Further pathway analysis of these newly present DEGs between the two natural hosts after 7 weeks of infection showed that they are focused on the following important pathways: natural killer cell-mediated cytotoxicity, complement and coagulation cascades, endocytosis, the hematopoietic cell lineage, cytokine–cytokine receptor interactions, the p53 signaling pathway, the MAPK signaling pathway, apoptosis, the Jak-STAT signaling pathway, the Toll-like receptor signaling pathway, purine metabolism, the B cell receptor signaling pathway (S5 Table). Here, TP53 is linked to infection.
