The selection of GADD45α as the suicide gene is based on the assumptions that (i) dysregulation of GADD45α could be expected in lung cancer; (ii) a correct sequence of GADD45α can provide therapeutic measures; (iii) targeting the downstream pathway of signaling network is the most preferred over an upstream pathway that may have many biological processes compromised. This evidence concerns the gene GADD45A and lung carcinoma.
