Recently de novo mutations in the gene encoding WD repeat containing protein 45 (WDR45) have been associated with an X-linked dominant form of NBIA causing static encephalopathy of childhood with neurodegeneration in adulthood (SENDA), now reclassified as BPAN (β-propeller protein-associated neurodegeneration), or NBIA5 [3–5]. This evidence concerns the gene WDR45 and Encephalopathy.
