HER2 transactivation by SP was also substantially inhibited in the presence of the MMP inhibitor 1–10, phenanthroline monohydrate, and almost completely abolished after the inhibition of both pathways, suggesting that the transactivation of HER2 by SP in BC cells is a c-Src and MMP-dependent process (Fig 3A and 3B).
