BV has demonstrated the inhibitory effect on rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in a carrageenan rat model and a rat model of chronic adjuvant-induced arthritis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in a hSOD1G93A mutant mice model, and Parkinson’s disease (PD) in a 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP)-induced mice model through control of NF-κB activation [23, 54, 55]. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
