Consistent with these observations, forced expression of miR-34b precursor sequences in different prostate cell lines but not antagonist (Panel A in S3 Fig), potently repressed endogenous Sox2 levels in BPH-1 cells (Fig 6A) whereas did not modulate the expression levels of c-Myc, Notch1 and Met (Panels B,C in S3 Fig). This evidence concerns the gene NOTCH1 and benign prostatic hyperplasia.
