INS and coronary artery disorder: K. Lalić et al. in their study entitled “Altered Daytime Fluctuation Pattern of Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor 1 in Type 2 Diabetes Patients with Coronary Artery Disease: A Strong Association with Persistently Elevated Plasma Insulin, Increased Insulin Resistance, and Abdominal Obesity” reported reduced diurnal fluctuation of plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 in patients with T2DM and CAD, along with increased insulin resistance, suggesting that these perturbations may be of relevance for the accelerated atherosclerosis in such patients.
