Jotic et al. in their article entitled “Decreased Insulin Sensitivity and Impaired Fibrinolytic Activity in Type 2 Diabetes Patients and Nondiabetics with Ischemic Stroke” identified the levels of insulin, plasminogen activator inhibitor-1, and insulin sensitivity as independent predictors of ischaemic stroke in patients with and without T2DM.
