TP53 and neoplasm: NFV induces growth arrest, reduces Akt signalling, apoptosis and docetaxelsensitisation. It is responsible for up-regulation of p21, p27 and p53, down-regulation of Bcl-2 and MMP-2. NFV slowed proliferation and inducedapoptosis in tumour xenografts mice without adverse systemic effects. Ofthe 3 PIs tested (saquinavir, ritonavir and NFV) NFV exerted the strongestinhibition on proliferation.
