Using web-based survival analysis tools with publically available breast cancer microarray databases [16–18], we found that embigin expression is significantly low in patients with basal-like, ER-/HER2- tumor, the highest risk subtype of breast tumors, and Kaplan-Meier analysis shows that low expression of embigin correlate with the shorter survival of breast cancer patients, particularly with basal-like cancer patients. The gene discussed is ERBB2; the disease is breast cancer.
