DHRS3 and type 2 diabetes mellitus: Taking these data together, we therefore assume that our observation on up-regulated CD9 and DHRS3 and PTPN7 expression in T2D monocytes can (next to the over-expression of miR-34c-5p) be taken as a sign that the circulating monocytes in T2D patients have an altered potential for adhesion, migration and differentiation into progeny, such as macrophages, dendritic cells and vascular support cells.
