The results showed that the HCC cell lines expressed lower level of miR-26b (Figure 1(a)) and higher Mcl-1 at both mRNA and protein levels (Figures 1(b) and 1(c)) compared with L02 cells, suggesting that there was an inverse relationship between the expressions of Mcl-1 and miR-26b, and the downregulation of miR-26b and upregulation of Mcl-1 may be involved in hepatocellular carcinogenesis.
