One very interesting and potentially prognostic miRNA was hsa-miR-197 as this miRNA was significantly up-regulated in 7 of 8 time points (TP1 to TP7) in plasma of patients that did not develop metastases compared to plasma of non-cancer control patients but it was similarly abundant in plasma from lung cancer patients that developed metastases and in plasma of non-cancer control patients. The gene discussed is TNP1; the disease is lung cancer.
