Posthoc analyses revealed that the bFGF level of the infarcted cortex of stroke rats in 24h group significantly increased compared to the infarcted cortex of rats in control group and the contralateral intact cortex of stroke rats in 24h group and control group at 7 days after MCAO (24h group: infarcted cortex 262.2±37.3, intact cortex 176.3±25.6; control group: infarcted cortex 190.3±9.6, intact cortex 193.3±15.0 pg/ml, respectively, p’s<0.05, Fig 7A and S4 Data). Here, FGF2 is linked to stroke disorder.
