Some of the most common genetic aberrations in lung cancers are mutations in TP53, PIK3CA, PTEN, KRAS, and EGFR. In light of these circumstances, it is remarkable that of six EPHB4 mutation-harboring tissues, four had only one mutation among this broad set of cancer genes (R248Q and G245C in TP53, H1047R in PIK3CA, and G12C in KRAS), and two were wild-type at every site investigated (one of these two harbored the P881S mutation). This evidence concerns the gene EPHB4 and lung carcinoma.
