Despite recent observations that p120 is required for the transformed and invasive phenotype of breast and renal cancer cells that have lost E-cadherin expression [17,25,40], for malignant transformation induced by oncogenic Src or Rac1 [18], and for invasion induced by HER2 [16], immunohistochemistry studies showed primarily mislocalization or loss of p120 in a variety of tumors [12,41–65]. The gene discussed is CTNND1; the disease is renal carcinoma.
