There were several noncontributing variables that were not predictive of survival, including toxicity of different pathogens (inclusive of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, gram-negative bacilli, anaerobes, or CN PJI), patient age, laterality, body mass index, cigarette smoking, diabetes mellitus, autoimmune diseases, end-stage renal disease, underlying malignancy, cementation, bone grafting, and ESR or CRP level before final reimplantation. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and diabetes mellitus.
