In conclusion, the present study showed that the total glycosides of rhodiola were able to suppress the sepsis-induced overexpression of TIPE2 in mice, inhibit the upregulated expression of the apoptosis-promoting proteins Fas and FasL, increase the decreased expression of the apoptosis-inhibiting protein Bcl-2, decrease the enhanced T-lymphocyte apoptosis, increase the decreased numbers of thymus T lymphocytes and CD3+, CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ T-lymphocyte sub-sets, further enhance the Th1 cytokines IFNγ, IL-2 and IL-12, and enhance the host’s immunity. This evidence concerns the gene IFNG and Sepsis.
